Healing Crystals and the Metaphysical Meanings of Stones
Crystals can be a lot more than just fashion statements — they can have a practical use, if you want!
Over 10 years ago, I started delving more into the metaphysical uses and meanings for different stones and minerals. There isn’t any hard, scientific proof that rocks can heal us.
We can only go by what other people tell us, our own experiences, and then make our own judgement from there. It’s like astrology — if you completely disregard it and don’t believe in it, then it’s not real to you. Pseudosciences rely largely on perception, but you can also say that about any sort of spiritual practice or religion.
While I was wearing an amethyst pendant 24/7, I was having some pretty vivid, symbolic and even prophetic dreams. One of the dreams seemed to be a warning that a time of hardship was about to start — which it did not long after the dream.
I have a history of anxiety and depression. I’ve been taking Zoloft (100 mg) for 2 years now, and while the medicine does help, it doesn’t work 100% all the time. Sometimes my anxiety still gets to me.
I started wearing a little piece of aventurine and obsidian around my neck. Aventurine helps with boosting confidence. Obsidian is a very protective stone, that helps you feel grounded and safe.
Since I’ve started wearing them every day, I’ve noticed a difference in how confident I feel. Placebo effect or not, it worked.
It’s one of those things you have to try out for yourself.
Even if you don’t 100% believe that wearing a certain rock will promote creativity or enhance your ability to have prophetic dreams, it can be fun to refer to when you’re looking for a ring or necklace. I made a chart that you can download and print out, pin, add to your tumblr blog, etc. you can refer to, sorted by what you might want to use them for.
Select them for your personal altar to reflect what you want to draw into your life.
